Writing a CV or resume Your resume (sometimes called your "CV") is your most important tool when applying for a job or acceptance on a course. A 'resume objective' is a statement declaring your 'employment goals' - where you intend to be at the end of your career and what you aspire to professionally. It doesn't matter how qualified you are, or how much experience you have - if your CV or resume is poorly presented or badly written, you're going to have trouble getting an interview for the position that you want.
