(i) What colour will the blue object seem to be when viewed through the green filter?

The blue object absorbs all light but blue light. It reflects blue light. 
The green filter absorbs blue light - therefore no light from the object gets through the filter to Lucy's eyes and the object looks black.

(b) She then looks at the blue object through a magenta filter.
(i) What colour does the object appear to be now?
The object looks blue.

(ii) Explain why this is the case.
The blue object absorbs all light but blue light. It reflects blue light. 
The magenta transmits blue and red light - therefore the blue light gets through the filter to Lucy's eyes and the object looks blue.
